Freedom of Information

In January 2005, the Freedom of Information Act came into force, which requires all public bodies in the United Kingdom to provide a general right of access to the information that they hold.

The Act allows the general public two rights:
(1.)    the right to know whether specific information is held and
(2.)    the right to obtain copies of that information.

Whilst the Bedfordshire and Luton Casualty Reduction Partnership is not a public authority under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), its constituent partners are.  Requests for information under the FOIA will be handled in accordance with the public authority that is handling the request.

In the first instance, FOI requests submitted via this website are directed to Bedfordshire Police. However, in situations where the information is held by a body other than Bedfordshire Police, requests may have to be redirected to one of the other partners. You will be advised accordingly in the event that your request needs to be transferred.

To request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 that is not published on this website, please write or email:

Email: partnership.administrator@bedfordshire.pnn.police.uk

Please read these important notes before making a request under the Freedom of Information Act

1. When requesting information, please include your name and address and details of the information you are requesting
2. We will respond no later than 20 working days after receiving your request in accordance with the Act.
3. There may be occasions where information requested may not be able to be released in part or at all under the Act's agreed exemptions. This will be confirmed in writing in each instance.
4. Information disclosed under the Freedom of Information Act has been deemed to be suitable for publication to the world at large. For this reason, it is unlikely that we will disclose information that relates to individual offences or cases pending prosecution in response to a request for information under the FOI Act. The Data Protection Act 1998 and the rules of Advance Disclosure of Evidence will take precedence over the Freedom of Information Act in these cases. Requests for information relating to individual cases should therefore be addressed to the Central Ticket Office without reference to the Freedom of Information Act.
