Firefighters from Sandy and Potton will be demonstrating the dangers that exist on the roads this season - with a car cutting exercises on Sunday 6th December at Sandy behind High Street 2 pm - 5 pm and on Satuday 19th December at Potton market square 9 am - 12 noon

The aim is show young drinkers and fast drivers the sort of tangled mess they can find themselves in if they don't take care on wet and icy roads this winter.

Station Commander Guy Munno said: “Our teams of firefighters will be using powerful professional cutting equipment to slice the roof off a car and release a ‘casualty’ trapped inside. It is a dramatic demonstration of the results of driving thoughtlessly, or worse still under the influence.”

Video footage show a similar event staged in Biggleswade in November can be found on www.local-news.tv
