Adult Pedestrians - Drivers

In the last three years more than a quarter of fatalities on the roads of Central Bedfordshire and Luton have been pedestrians.  In an attempt to reduce this number Central Bedfordshire Council, Luton Borough Council and Bedfordshire Police are running a pedestrian safety campaign aimed at both drivers and pedestrians.

Part two of our campaign is aimed at drivers.  Just over half of pedestrian casualties are caused by drivers.  It is often the case that the drivers is momentarily distracted by any number of things such as talking to passengers, talking on a mobile phone, eating, drinking, looking at someone on the pavement and do not see the pedestrian until it is too late.  This innovative campaign uses comedy game show.  The  host asks why the contestant twenty-two year old 'Steve' knocked down and injured a pedestrian while he was driving?  By entering the competition you get entered into a prize draw to win £100.

From the 29th July for three weeks drivers will be invited by Heart FM to take part in the game show by visiting the website
